Institutional Disclaimer: UNESCO REF
Avis Institutionnel et Clause de Non-Responsabilité
The terms under which the Read and Earn Federation for UNESCO (UNESCO REF) conducts its affairs, publishes its record and receives the engagement of governments, diplomatic missions, partner institutions, volunteers and the public.
The UNESCO Framework
UNESCO REF operates within the broad framework of UNESCO Institutes and Centres, Associations and Clubs. The publications of the Federation represent the institutional position of UNESCO REF, and do not represent the position of any sister agency or parental body.
Principal Clauses
01. Institutional Partnership Carries No Fee
UNESCO REF does not levy, request or accept payment of any kind in exchange for institutional partnership, recognition, strategic association or programme entry. Every partnership is concluded without monetary consideration to the Federation.
Any representation that a fee is required to secure partnership, access or accreditation is without the authority of UNESCO REF, and should be verified with the Federation before any step is taken.
02. Volunteer Application and Kit Fee
Application to any UNESCO REF volunteer programme is entirely free. No payment is required to apply, to be interviewed or to be assessed.
Volunteers formally approved through the selection process of the Federation meet a nominal fee for the official UNESCO REF Volunteer Identification Card and the Volunteer Capacity Development Kit; approved international volunteers meet, in addition, an international dispatch surcharge. These fees are payable only through the official channels of the Federation, and only after formal acceptance.
03. Programme Participation Fees
Where a UNESCO REF programme carries a training or administrative fee, that fee is set and collected by the delivering partner institution, not by UNESCO REF. The applicable terms are communicated in writing before enrolment.
Payments sought by any individual or third party outside the published arrangements of the delivering institution are not recognised by the Federation.
04. No Official Social Media Presence
At present, UNESCO REF does not maintain an official account on any social media or messaging platform. Any account, page, group or channel bearing the name, logo or visual identity of UNESCO REF is without the mandate of the Federation.
Communications and announcements attributed to UNESCO REF on such platforms carry no institutional standing, and may be brought to the attention of the Federation, which will place them on record and take appropriate action.
05. Verification Through Official Channels
The Federation speaks through this website, unesco-ref.org; through correspondence on its letterhead bearing the signature of an accredited officer; and through its institutional address, info@unesco-ref.org.
A communication that cannot be verified through these channels carries no institutional standing. The Federation welcomes direct confirmation before any response is made to an invitation, instruction or request received by other means.
Institutional Declaration
UNESCO REF does not warrant that the information, documents and materials contained in its website are complete, and shall not be liable whatsoever for any damages incurred as a result of their use.
